Clark Griswold Doesn’t Have Anything on Uncle Fatty’s
Lakeview Bar Attempts to Build World’s Largest Snow Globe During the Holidays

We all have that person in our lives: the eccentric neighbor who spends countless hours stapling lights to every square inch of his house, the crazy aunt who deploys an army of inflatable holiday figures in her yard every year, those who take the holidays to the extreme. Uncle Fatty’s in Lakeview is no stranger to over-the-top decorations for various holidays throughout the year (including a 4-day construction of $10,000 in Halloween decorations), but this holiday season tops them all. The Lakeview bar will be constructing a massive, life-size snow globe to encompass their entire live music stage on December 18th.

“We have a half a dozen confetti guns and the plan is to arch the stage in plastic for a snow globe effect. Our hope is to have over a ½ inch of ‘snow’ on the ground by the end of the night,” says co-owner Brian Galati. In addition to the Winter Wonderland of the Snow Globe, decorations will include numerous Christmas trees, garland galore, and lights in every crevasse of the 7,000 square foot bar. Oh, and the jovial army of inflatables are coming along for the ride as well.

Saturday’s Snow Globe Party will be kicking off with the following festivities:

Friday, December 17th: All Cover’d Up: Guests who donate of an old jacket or coat for the less-fortunate receive free cover for popular cover band, Maggie Speaks (9 PM).

Saturday, December 18th: Official Snow Globe Party: Guests are invited to be a part of the biggest snow globe ever created to dance the night away in a snowy haze to one of the Midwest most popular cover band, Mike & Joe (9 PM).

I found your website by doing a search for “lifesize snow globe”. My church is wanting to build a snow globe for our Christmas parade. Can you tell me what you used for your globe?? Thank you!
